Please read this recent post by a cherished client of ours on the anniversary of her daughter ‘s tragic death due to medical and hospital neglect. Hopefully her case improves medical care and hospital protocols for all so that a tragedy like this never happens again, and her daughter’s death is not in vain. We have redacted names to protect their privacy.
“16 yrs ago, I walked into a hospital after a long night in the ER the night before and handed my child over to medical professionals (after following their orders from the previous evening). I thought I did everything right! Never in a million years did I think I’d be leaving that hospital without my child. I’ll never forget sitting outside the hospital against a wall crying and just feeling lost and refusing to leave the hospital like, “Wait, you want me to leave without my child?!?” We never can imagine what the day we lose our loved ones will feel like, and when it comes all you feel is the loss and all the things you wish you did better or different, and losing a child is absolutely soul crushing, heart-wrenching loss. A loss like no other! So today I ask everyone to yes remember my beautiful [daughter’s] short precious life but also think of how lucky you are to have those you love everyday and cherish them as if it is your last day with them because you just never know. As always, I thank you all for the outpouring of love for my [daughter]. After 16 years, it warms my heart, seeing how much she is still loved and remembered. To my [daughter], I’ll carry you in my heart until I see you again. Forever my baby.”
