Staten Island Verdict for $850,000 for negligently performed cataract surgery obtained by Ken Kerner

Pleased to announce that on September 30, 2022, Ken Kerner obtained a 850K verdict in Staten Island Supreme Court after a 3 week jury trial. The lawsuit was filed seeking compensation for our 72 year old client who suffered a detached retina to his right eye following cataract surgery, which resulted in diminished sight. We alleged the eye surgeon was negligent and committed acts of medical malpractice by not rendering prompt medical attention to treat a known post operative complication. We are thankful for a jury that listened carefully to the evidence, followed the law and rendered a fair and just verdict in the case.
